Try Scuba is your chance to get wet and experience what scuba diving is all about. Signing up for Try Scuba is a great way to decide whether getting a scuba diving certification is right for you. We know that once you come in and try it, you’ll love it!  

With our Try Scuba pool session, you'll spend approximately one hour in the pool getting a taste of the scuba diving experience in the safety of a familiar setting.

Becoming an SSI Open Water Diver is the best way to start your scuba adventure!  We will teach you all the necessary skills to make sure you feel safe, confident and prepared.  SSI training is designed so that you can learn the academics at your own pace, when it is convenient for you.  A DVD, coloured manual and FREE online training will give you the basic information you need to prepare you for your first underwater class. For your pool and open water training, your instructor will personally fit you with scuba equipment so that you feel comfortable in your 'second skin'. You will have plenty of practice time to adapt yourself to the underwater environment before you begin your open water training dives.  Once you have completed your initial training, you will be a certified SSI diver.  SSI certifications are recognised worldwide so your diving experiences will be limitless!

Recapture the feeling of total confidence after a longer period without diving, by updating the skills learned in your Open Water Diver course.   

Your Scuba Skills Update Dive Leader will review the knowledge you learned in your Open Water Diver class, as well as cover any new material. You will review dive planning, dive tables and dive execution to keep you safe during future diving activities.

Directly after the Open Water course, Advanced Adventurer is the entry to continuing education, especially for those divers who cannot decide which speciality courses they want to learn.  

During the Advanced Adventurer Programme you will have the chance to try out five different specialties.  You will complete one open water training dive per specialty in order to get a better understanding for each specialty area.        

Later, you can choose to complete all or just a few of your selected specialties through a Specialty Course by completing the second dive and finishing all academic requirements.  Choose your preferred Specialty areas and continue your adventure right after your Open Water Diver Programme!

Have you ever asked  yourself, "How does my instructor manage to find the way back to the exit point or to the boat?"

If so, the NAVIGATION programme is what you need to learn this skill for yourself.  The NAVIGATION programme will teach you to navigate with a compass and how to apply natural navigation skills. You will also learn to estimate distances, navigate different search patterns, find your way to different marking points, and be able to get back to the exit point at any time.

Cost:  R1600 per person 

“Be prepared for those unexpected emergencies"

Stress is a major contributor to rescue situations and diving accidents.  Through this course you will learn accident prevention, as well as how to handle problem situations if they occur.  This programme is about avoiding, recognising and solving problems on the surface and under water.  During the course, you will participate in academic and in-water sessions in the pool and open water.  As a pre-requisite for this certification you need to have a valid CPR & First Aid Certificate (see our First Aid section for information on First Aid courses).

Most of the diving your will do while on vacation will take place from a dive boat.  In your BOAT DIVING specialty course you will learn about the types of boats that you may dive from, the correct boat diving techniques, how to choose the right travel agency and diving operator when planning your vacation and what to consider when travelling with your Total Diving System.  Taking a BOAT DIVING specialty programme prior to your vacation guarantees you will be ready.

Today these facts have changed completely.  Now diving and photography with a digital camera system have become very easy.  Many of you may already have a digital camera system and a proper underwater housing.  As such it is likely you are asking yourself how to take better pictures.  Now a structured programme is available to answer your digital underwater photography questions which means more fun and satisfaction in diving.  The DIGITAL UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY course can be learned in the pool or directly in the open water.
