Outdoor Focus

Our cruises leave from the Small Boat Harbour in Port Alfred, taking you on a relaxing and scenic journey up the Kowie River. 

Our regular cruise trips are one and a half hours in duration.  Fancy breakfast, brunch, lunch or supper on the boat or celebrating a special occasion? Private cruises of approximately 4 hours in duration can also be arranged on request.

There are two types of vessels that we operate; a 9 metre covered barge with toilet that can seat up to 35 adults and a 3 metre boat that caters for smaller groups.

Cost: R70 per adult (1.5 hour cruise)

R30 per child

Infants travel free of charge 

Try your hand at bottom fishing with our friendly skipper and keep what you catch! 

Port Alfred offers some great fishing with local catches include Cape Salmon, Cob, Geelbek and plenty of reef fish. Our experienced local skipper will take you through the Kowie River Mouth to our fishing reefs in front of Port Alfred. Not only can you keep what you catch (within bag limits), you may be strike it lucky with sightings of dolphins, migrating whales and the Mola Mola (sunfish).  Rods, reels and bait are supplied for you so you just need to bring warm clothing, hat, sun block, snacks and drinks.  

Bring along some snacks and a cool drink as we take in the sights of our beautiful coastline by boat.  Port Alfred waters are home to a variety of marine life such as migrating whales, pelagic birds and pods of dolphins. Early mornings or late afternoons are a perfect time for our sea cruises as we watch the sun rise or set over the Indian Ocean (don't forget your camera)!  We are sure that you will enjoy this pleasurable experience with us so don't hesitate and book today!

Put on a wetsuit and take a thrilling ride through the Kowie River Mouth on our semi rigid 8 metre superduck.  Turns in the river mouth and riding along the Port Alfred coastline through the surf will get the whole group laughing and giggling and you will almost certainly get wet!

Law about Skippers Licenses : It is now law that everyone taking a vessel to sea has to have a skippers licence. It is also law that everyone operating a vessel with an engine of over 15hp on inland waters has to have a skippers licence. 

These licenses are obtainable through SAMSA, (South African Maritime Safety Authority). We are authorised by SAMSA to teach these courses on their behalf.

Please find below a list of courses that we offer with appropriate SAMSA distance allocation for the course:

Category R: This covers all inland waters, estuaries, lagoons & ports

Category E: Vessels only going 1Nm offshore

Category C: Vessels going up to 15Nm offshore

Category B: Vessels going up to 40Nm offshore
